The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.
“Last September, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to utilize the food they are given to create nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume aid along with money-management and job classes to help people get back on their feet.
Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.
“All the team members were so excited that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even took time to show us their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
